Featured Artist: Yvonne Claveloux
We are thrilled to introduce you to our July/August featured artist, Yvonne Claveloux. Yvonne i derives inspiration for her work from her many travels, Cuban roots, and colorful winters in Miami. She is often told that her artwork is a reflection of her personality…bright, bold, honest and with a lot of soul. One glimpse at her artwork and you can’t help but feel uplifted and joyful!
We recently had the opportunity for a quick chat with Yvonne to talk about her art and the inspiration behind her colorful pieces.
What would you say your motto is as an artist?
Live your life in color!
Where do you get inspiration for your art? I get inspiration from everywhere. Walks on the beach both in my hometown of Westport Ct and in Miami, the flowers in my garden, the sky.
How would you describe your art style?
I would describe my art style as colorful, energetic, modern and FUN!
What is something that not many people know about you (that you don’t mind that we share)?
I would share that I although my name is French I am actually Cuban.
What do you hope people “get” from your art?
I hope people get a sense of joy when they see my artwork. That is my number one reason for creating art!
What is your favorite painting/piece of art and/or artist?
I always enjoy seeing old works by Helen Frankenthaler who always inspires me
